Eligibility Criteria for Rowland Fellows Program:

Applicants must:

  • Be in the process of completing a PhD OR have received a PhD after May 1, 2025.
  • Have completed their doctoral degree before the fellowship start date.
  • Propose an experimentally focused research program in any field of science or engineering.
  • Avoid proposing human subjects or clinical research, since shared laboratory spaces cannot support this type of work.
  • Apply from any accredited institution, either in the United States or internationally.
  • Meet visa requirements (both U.S. citizens and non-citizens are eligible; support for visas is provided)
