Alexander Crawford Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 

Founded by Alexander Crawford of Miramar, who in the year 1935 bequeathed to the Victoria University of Wellington the sum of NZD 6,000 for the establishment of scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
2. Applicants must have been a resident of Wellington city for at least three years prior to application and be experiencing financial hardship.

Selection Criteria:

1. The scholarship is awarded annually to students in the final year of a first Bachelor's degree at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, pursuing full-time study. At least one scholarship will go to a BSc student, and the other to a student in a BA, LLB, or BCom.
2. Applicants must have been bona fide residents of Wellington city for at least three years prior to the award (schooling outside the city does not necessarily disqualify them) and must be experiencing financial hardship.

Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.

Award: NZD 6,000.

Deadline: 15th July 2025.

Note:

1. The scholarship is tenable for one year and may not be held together with the Emily Lilias Johnston Scholarship.
2. Successful recipients will write a letter of thanks to the donor on receipt of the scholarship.
3. The Scholarship cannot be deferred to a later year.
4. The Scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards.
