My name is Mark Kato, a 22-year-old male currently enrolled at Kampala International University, Western Campus, Bushenyi. I am writing to humbly request your support in sponsoring my tuition fees to pursue my dream of becoming a medical student at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. I come from a modest background, and my father, recently retired. Unfortunately, our family's financial circumstances have taken a negative turn over the last few years. My mother, a subsistence farmer, does not have a stable income. Compounding the situation, I am one of a set of twins, and my twin sister has been concurrently admitted to study Engineering at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). This has placed a significant strain on our father's ability to meet our tuition and other educational needs. While enrolled at Kampala International University, I successfully completed the first semester, but unfortunately, I was unable to sit for the end-of-semester exams due to the inability to complete the tuition fees payment of approximately $1400 per semester. This has been a source of great stress as I watch my dream of becoming a medical student seemingly shattered. I am writing to seek financial assistance to resume my studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where I believe I can achieve my academic and career aspirations. I am prepared to attach my registration papers and bank statements to provide proof of my current circumstances. Additionally, I am willing to work part-time within the university, particularly in the hospital or any other facility, to contribute towards covering my living expenses. I understand the importance of education and the sacrifices that come with pursuing one's dreams. I am confident that, with your support, I can overcome the financial barriers and make a meaningful contribution to society through my studies in the medical field. The Nanyang Technological University has initiated The School Scholarship, 2024 which is awarded to outstanding freshmen pursuing full-time undergraduate programmes at NTU.

Eligibility criteria for the Nanyang Technological University School Scholarship, 2024:

Open to all nationalities.
Successful awardees should read a full-time undergraduate degree program. The scholarship will cover the years of study at NTU.
Applicants must possess outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, a Diploma awarded by a polytechnic in Singapore, an NUS High School Diploma, an IB Diploma, or Year 12 equivalent qualifications.
Applicants must possess good co-curricular records.
Applicants must possess good leadership qualities and potential.

Value of the Nanyang Technological University School Scholarship, 2024:

Successful applicants of the Nanyang Technological University School Scholarship, 2024 will receive the following benefits-

Full coverage of subsidized tuition fees (after Tuition Grant).
No bond is attached to the Scholarship apart from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore PRs and international students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.
