Ian Pollard Organ Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
This scholarship was established in 2009 through a bequest from Ian Pollard. This scholarship supports talented undergraduate or postgraduate organ students at the New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī. In years where no suitable student is selected, the funds may instead support a visiting fellow to promote the performance, training, or development of organ music.
Eligibility Criteria of the Ian Pollard Organ Scholarship:
Applicants must:
- Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
- Be enrolled (or intending to enrol) in an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at the New Zealand School of Music – Te Kōkī, Victoria University of Wellington.
- Be a student of the organ (instrumental focus).
- Meet the academic merit criteria as assessed by the selection panel.
Selection Criteria: Applicants must be students of the organ enrolled at the New Zealand School of Music. They must be studying at either postgraduate or undergraduate level. The selection will be based on Academic Merit.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: Approximately NZD 3,000.

- Recipients must write a letter of thanks to the donor of this scholarship.
- The recipient will be expected to demonstrate engagement and contribute to the community and environment of the New Zealand School of Music. This may include, but is not limited to, participation in ensembles, presentations, or performances at NZSM or university events.
