The Physics and Astronomy Summer Research Grant

This program was established to encourage students to engage in research on campus during the summer months under the direct supervision of a faculty member. 

Eligibility criteria -

• The applicant must be pursuing enrolled major in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at CSUN and have completed the junior sequence of courses
• They must be expected to graduate at the end of the following academic year (May/June).
• Exceptions may be granted to highly prepared sophomores.
• The minimum GPA of 2.75 in the major is required for an undergraduate and 3.25 for a graduate student.

Application process -

• The applicant must surpass all the additional requirements the University sets for admission.

Note: A total stipend ($4000) will be provided (depending on funding availability) to the successful applicant. Half of this will be paid at the end of the fifth week and the other half will be paid upon completion of the experience.
