Environmental and Durability Investigations of High-Performance Composites and Joining Systems – PhD Scholarship at University of Southern Queensland
This project will cover detailed understanding of the performance and resilience of high performance composites under laboratory conditions and realistic combinations of extreme weather and mechanical loads including humidity, solar UV radiation and marine environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must have completed an Honours Degree with First Class or 2A Honours, or equivalent level, or a Master’s degree with a significant research component, and have applied to, or be currently enrolled full-time on-campus in the PhD program at UniSQ.
- The applicant must not be receiving equivalent support providing a benefit greater than 75% of the student’s stipend rate, and must be eligible to commence or continue the PhD program by January 2025.
Selection Criteria: The applicant must demonstrate a high level of academic achievement (e.g., class of honours or equivalent, performance in a postgraduate degree, academic prizes and awards) and research capability (e.g., research publications in high-quality journals, presentations at conferences, research internship experience, or evidence of creative works, if applicable).
Application Process:
- The applicant must provide digital copies of their curriculum vitae (including any research presentations and/or publications), preliminary research thesis topic proposal, and education qualifications (testamur and academic transcripts for all undergraduate and postgraduate awards).
- The applicant must have their current or prospective supervisor complete the Supervisor Support Letter, and submit the application via the UniSQ Scholarship Application Management System by the closing date.
Award: Stipend of AUD $37,000. Tuition fees for a maximum period of three years full-time equivalent study.

- Maximum period of tenure of an award is 3 years. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree will be deducted from the period of tenure.
