Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Scholarship 2024

Eligibility for Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Scholarship at Kent University:

• Selected applicants will exhibit exceptional scholarly abilities and remarkable research potential.
• A first or upper-second-class honors degree in a relevant topic is required of applicants, or they should anticipate obtaining one; a master's degree or its equivalent is preferred.
• Both domestic and international (including EU) students are eligible for the studentships. UKRI has set a limitation of 30% on the total number of international studentships given to every group. 

Value of the Scholarship:

These scholarships cover tuition at the home rate, a 3.5-year doctorate stipend (equal to the Research Council's UK National Minimum doctorate Stipend, £18,622 for 2023–24), and access to additional funds for research assistance. Kent will cover the difference between the home and international application costs if you apply as an international candidate.

Application Process:

• The candidate needs to apply for a PHd program first.
• Later as part of the application process, the student must include the following:
  • explain reasons for study/outline research proposal
  • provide details/evidence of qualifications
  • provide two academic references
  • provide other personal information and supporting documentation.
