Program Description
- The Mathilde-Planck Teaching Assignment Program offers women the opportunity to qualify for a professorship in Baden-Württemberg through teaching experience.
- The teaching assignments can be carried out at a public university of applied sciences, a university of arts and music, or the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW).
- The program aims to increase the proportion of female professors. Approximately 100 teaching assignments are granted per semester.
- The funding for these teaching assignments is generally limited to 4 semester hours per week and 4 semesters.
- The payment for teaching hours is based on the university’s internal rates.
- The state provides funding for teaching assignments, but travel expenses are not covered by the MPL program; however, they can be arranged separately with the respective university.
Target Group
- The program is aimed at women with the qualifications for scientific or artistic work who hold a degree from a university and wish to gain teaching experience at a university of applied sciences, a university of arts and music, or the DHBW to qualify for a professorship.
- Candidates must not have held a teaching assignment at the university applying for the program in the last two semesters.
Academic Requirements
- A state-recognized university degree
Special qualification for scientific or artistic work (usually demonstrated by a doctoral degree or artistic awards) or - At least 2 years of professional experience outside academia and a concrete plan for a doctoral project

- Teaching assignments within the program are limited to a maximum of 4 semester hours per week and 4 semesters.
