Dr. Martha H. Rusnak Endowed Scholarship at Lewis University 2024

Lewis University offers the Dr. Martha H. Rusnak Endowed Scholarship to degree-seeking students in one of the Department of Education graduate programs for reading & literacy that leads to either the M.Ed. or M.A. degree.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA.
• Scholarship awards must be applied in full in the Fall or Spring semester.
• Applicants must be admitted and enrolled as degree-seeking in one of the Department of Education graduate programs for reading & literacy that leads to either the M.Ed. or M.A. degree.
• Applicants must complete 6 credit hours by the end of the semester when submitting the application.
• Applicants must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours/semester.

Application Process:

• All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.
• The candidates must include an essay (500-800 words) that addresses the responsibility of the reading professional to do the following:
  • Support learners’ literacy development.
  • Motivate learners to be lifelong readers.
  • Advocate for all learners through anti-racist and inclusive literacy practices.
• The shortlisted candidates may have to attend an interview.

Value of the Scholarship:

Selected candidates are awarded a scholarship of USD 2,500.
