Derek Ogston Postgraduate Music Scholarship 2023

Beginning with the academic year 2023–2024, students pursuing a PhD in any field of music within the University of Aberdeen's Department of Music will be eligible to apply for the Ogston Postgraduate Music Scholarship. Graduates with a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree, or an equivalent qualification, are invited to apply for a scholarship if they intend to pursue a full-time PhD program in composition or musicology at the University of Aberdeen's Department of Music starting in the 2023–2024 academic year. The scholarship is worth £2,000 each year for the three years that the postgraduate program is offered. The scholarship will be awarded in two equal installments: a £1,000 initial payment at the start of the academic year, and a second £1,000 payment at the beginning of the second half of the session. Subject to the recipient making adequate progress during the time, the award will be given, and there will be an annual review. 

Eligibility for Derek Ogston Postgraduate Music Scholarship:

• This scholarship is open to all nationals.
• This scholarship is for candidates who are enrolled in the Ph.D. program at the University of Aberdeen's Department of Music.
