The Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) is offering talent grants to talented and ambitious young researchers to pursue a scientific career and a high-quality Ph.D.

Eligibility for NWO Research Talent Grants:

  • Candidates applying for NWO Research Talent Grants should be employed by a Dutch University an NWO or KNAW institute or the MPI for Psycholinguistics.
  • Applicants should be employed during the application process and the research for which the funding is requested.
  • Candidates should have an average grade of 7,5 or a GPA of 3.37 in their bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants should have an average grade of 8,0 or a GPA of 3.95 in their first year of master's study.
  • Candidates who are Ph.D. students are not eligible.

Selection criteria:

  • Applicants will be assessed based on their pre-proposals, education, extra-curricular activities, motivation, and research idea.
  • Candidates will also be evaluated based on their full proposals, the potential contribution of the proposed research methods and setup, and the quality of the candidate.
  • The assessment procedure is split up into two phases:
    • Pre-proposal phase
    • Full proposal phase

Value of the Grants:

The recipients of NWO Research Talent Grants get material costs of up to 10,000 euros which include costs for knowledge exchange and impact and data management for four years.
