Charles Francis Martin & Maude Williams Martin Scholarship

The Charles Francis Martin and Maude Williams Martin Memorial Scholarship in English was established by friends and family to honor Charles Martin; who served Central for 43 years as a professor in Languages and Literature, as head of the Department of English, and as chair of the Division of Languages and Literature; and Maude Martin, who also taught English and was head of the Foreign Language Department. 

 Eligibility criteria for Charles Francis Martin & Maude Williams Martin Scholarship

Applicants must:

• Be a senior undergraduate or graduate student.
• Be majoring in English.
• Have completed at least 15 credit hours in English.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in English courses.
• Demonstrate promise and merit in the teaching of English and/or writing.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must complete and submit the General Application Form to be considered for the scholarship.
