This grant offers students up to $1,700 and is given to Australian medical graduates doing graduate research study at the Melbourne Medical School. Mr and Mrs Randal J. Alcock founded it in honor of their nephew, Major Cedric Alwin Stewart, M.D., who lost his life in World War I in Borre, France while tending to an officer's wounds.

Eligibility for the Alwyn Stewart Memorial Scholarship at the University of Melbourne:

Applicants must:

Be an outstanding graduate research applicant, or be currently enrolled as a graduate researcher, in the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
Be a medical graduate.
Satisfy the Faculty's entry requirements for a PhD.

Value of the Alwyn Stewart Memorial Scholarship at the University of Melbourne:

A fortnightly allowance for up to 1 year, totalling approximately $1,700 (pro rata).
