The Meyerhoff Scholars at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) 2026

Eligibility Criteria for The Meyerhoff Scholars:

Applicants must:

• be high school seniors with strong academic achievement
• intend to pursue doctoral-level study (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in science or engineering
• show interest in advancing minorities in STEM fields
• apply through nomination (strongly encouraged, but not required), typically by teachers, school counselors, mentors, or community leaders
• apply to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the Meyerhoff program.

Value of The Meyerhoff Scholars:

Provides approximately:

• $5,000 / $10,000 / $15,000 per year for in-state students
• $10,000 / $15,000 / $22,000 per year for out-of-state students
• The award supports tuition, mandatory fees, and other educational expenses for four years.
