The Meyerhoff Scholars Program

Eligibility:

• The Meyerhoff Scholars Program is open to high-achieving high school seniors interested in pursuing doctoral study (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in the sciences or engineering.
• Applicants should be passionate about advancing minorities in STEM fields.
• Nominations are encouraged but no longer required, and students may be nominated by educators, mentors, or community leaders.

Application Process:

• Applicants must submit their application by December 1 for the first-year priority deadline or January 15 for the final application deadline.
• It is recommended to submit applications by the Early Action or Priority deadline for UMBC admission.

Value/Benefit:

• The program provides four-year scholarship awards, offering $5,000 - $15,000 per year for in-state students and $10,000 - $22,000 per year for out-of-state students.
• The scholarship helps cover tuition, fees, and other expenses.
