ADF Veterans Scholarship at University of Southern Queensland

The ADF Veterans Scholarship, established in 2022 through donor contributions to recognize the operational service of Australian Defence Force veterans, will support one veteran commencing their first year of a bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern Queensland in 2025, assisting their transition to civilian careers through tertiary education.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The applicant should be a domestic student residing in Australia.
2. The applicant should have left full-time service with the ADF within the last five years or be transitioning from full-time service in 2025, and must have completed operational service as part of their ADF service.
3. The applicant should be a commencing student intending to enroll full-time at UniSQ in a bachelor’s degree program in Study Period 1 2025 (e.g., Trimester 1 2025).
4. The applicant should not already have attained a tertiary qualification at a bachelor level or higher.

Selection Criteria:

1. Answer each personal statement question (max 250 words each): motivation for choosing your intended study program, future professional goals, and challenges faced in transitioning out of or since leaving the ADF.
2. Provide a copy of your ADF Record of Service (and evidence of submission of form AC853 if separation/intent to separate is not stated). 

 Application Process: Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.

Award: a maximum value of AUD 12,000 to be paid over three years.

Deadline: Monday 18 November 2024 at 11:59pm (AEST)

Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ-awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
