The University of Petra is a private university in Amman, Jordan. Its president is Professor Marwan Muwalla. The university, based in Amman, was established in 1992. The University offers a variety of programs at its eight colleges. Arabic is used for the teaching of humanities, and English is used as the teaching medium in most of the other disciplines.
