Through its Internationalisation Fellowships, the Carlsberg Foundation wishes to promote the internationalization of Danish talents and talent development in Danish research. These scholarships are given to up-and-coming PhD candidates for a one-to-two-year continuous research period at a top global research center outside of Denmark.
Eligibility Criteria of Carlsberg Foundation Internationalisation Fellowships:
Applicants must:
- Hold a PhD degree or be expected to obtain a PhD before the fellowship starts.
- Have earned their PhD from a Danish, Greenlandic, or Faroese research institution.
- Not have been affiliated with an international research institution outside Denmark, Greenland, or the Faroe Islands for more than 12 months since obtaining their PhD.
- Have obtained their PhD within the last three years (extensions allowed for parental leave, illness, etc.).
- Demonstrate a strong connection to Danish, Greenlandic, or Faroese research through employment, personal ties, or intent to return after the fellowship.
- Not already be affiliated with the international host institution at the time of application.
- Be willing to reside in the country of the international host institution for the duration of the fellowship.
Application Process:
- Interested candidates must apply online for the fellowship.
- The application should include the following documents:
- Project description
- Budget
- Curriculum vitae and list of publications
- Housing commitment from the host institution
- Recommendations.
Value of the Fellowship:
- Salary and living allowance provided by the Carlsberg Foundation.
- DKK 8,000 per month for standard support.
- Additional support for accompanying family members: DKK 50,000 per year for a partner and DKK 100,000 per year for children.
- Coverage includes living costs and research expenses, but not administrative overhead.
