The IJP Middle East Programme is a journalism fellowship exchange designed to promote deeper understanding and professional exchange between journalists from the Middle East and Germany.

Eligibility Criteria for Middle East/Germany Fellowship 2026:

Applicants must:

Be working journalists.
Be citizens and residents of countries within the Middle East, specifically:
- Egypt
- Jordan
- Lebanon
- Palestinian Territories
- Israel
Be proficient in English.

Value of Middle East/Germany Fellowship 2026:

Each fellow receives a one-time payment of 5,000 euros (stipend money + 1,000 euros travel allowance). The amount is intended to cover most travel, food, and accommodation costs. Scholarship holders are expected to contribute.

Application Process:

- Recommendation letter from a department head or editor‑in‑chief
- Journalistic work samples
