The L G Peacocke Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington 

The L G Peacocke Scholarship, established by alumnus Luke Peacocke (Class of 1999), aims to strengthen expertise in international relations and enhance New Zealand’s role in the global political economy. It supports students pursuing an Honours or Master’s degree in Politics, International Relations, Strategic Studies, Public Policy, or Economics.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  1. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, meet the admission requirements for an Honours or Master’s degree at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, and be enrolled full-time.
  2. Applicants must intend to study in one of the following disciplines: Politics, International Relations, Strategic Studies, Public Policy, or Economics.

Selection Criteria: Selection will be based on academic achievement and the applicant’s intention to work in areas related to international relations, with potential to strengthen New Zealand’s role in the global political economy.

Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.

Award: NZD 15,000.

Note: 

  1. NZD 15,000 will be paid towards tuition fees and levies, with the remainder being paid directly to the student in one lump sum.
  2. Recipients must write a letter of thanks to the donor of this scholarship and provide an end year progress report to their Statement of Intent.
  3. The Scholarship cannot be deferred to a later year.
  4. The Scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards.
