The Darlington Scholarship at University of Edinburgh 2026

Eligibility Criteria for The Darlington Scholarship at University of Edinburgh:

Applicants must:

• Complete an undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh in the 2025–2026 academic year
• Have previously received an Access Edinburgh Scholarship or Scotland Scholarship during undergraduate study
• Have Scotland domiciled fee status (eligible for SAAS funding) at both undergraduate and postgraduate level
• Apply for admission to an eligible 1-year full-time on-campus Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Masters or Masters by Research (MScR) programme for 2026–2027
• Transition directly from undergraduate study to postgraduate study at the University

Applicants will not be eligible if:

• Already in receipt of, or later awarded, a full scholarship.
• Accepted another University of Edinburgh scholarship.
• Fully sponsored by an employer.

Value of The Darlington Scholarship at University of Edinburgh:

• £16,000 cash award.
• 40% fee reduction on eligible programmes.
• Fees capped at £18,000 for programmes costing more than that, with a 40% reduction applied.
• Award paid in three equal installments over the academic year.

Application Process:

• Apply for your chosen eligible degree programme first.
• Apply for the scholarship after receiving an offer (conditional or unconditional).
• Submit a 600-word application statement addressing:
  • How the scholarship would benefit your studies and help achieve your goals.
  • How your education could benefit your community/society.
  • Key academic or personal achievements you are proud of.
