The Charles Medal in Physiology at University College Cork 2026

Introduction:

The Charles Medal in Physiology is an annual award at University College Cork, established through a donation by Dr. John James Charles, former Professor of Anatomy and Physiology at Queen's College, Cork.

Eligibility criteria for the Charles Medal in Physiology at University College Cork:

• The applicants must be a current UCC student.
• The applicants must be enrolled as a fourth-year BSc student or an intercalated BSc student.
• The applicants must achieve the highest aggregate mark in the Fourth Year Physiology Examination, comprising the eligible physiology modules.

Application Process:

• No separate application is required. The medal is awarded automatically based on academic performance in the physiology examination.

Value of the Scholarship:

• A medal is awarded as a prize to support a full-time student.
