Introduction: 

In 2024, the Saint Dunstan's University Board of Governors established a series of entrance awards to support Prince Edward Island students pursuing careers in healthcare. These awards are intended for PEI high school graduates who demonstrate financial need, plan to live and work in Prince Edward Island after graduation, and are entering eligible health studies programs at Holland College.

Eligibility requirement for Saint Dunstan’s University Health Studies Awards for PEI High School graduates at Holland College:

  • Must be a PEI resident.
  • Have graduated or be graduating from a high school in PEI.
  • Start their first year of study in one of the eligible health care programs.
  • Demonstrate financial need;
  • Planning to live and work in Prince Edward Island post-graduation.
  • Write a short essay outlining their plans and intentions to stay and work in PEI after graduation.

Value of the scholarship:

The scholarship is awarded in the following way:

  • Advanced Care Paramedicine – 1 x CAD 2,500
  • Primary Care Paramedicine – 1 x CAD 3,000
  • Practical Nursing – 1 × CAD 3,000
  • Resident Care Worker – 1 x CAD 1,500

Application Process:

  • Apply for admission to an eligible healthcare program at Holland College.
  • Please complete the scholarship/awards application by the deadline.
  • Provide proof of graduation (or expected graduation) from a PEI high school upon request.
  • Provide a brief essay describing your plans after graduation and your commitment to living and working in Prince Edward Island.
  • Please send all required documents and information by April 2, 2026.
