    Robert and Dorothy Family Trust Scholarship
    The Robert and Dorothy Family Trust Scholarship was established in 2012 to provide financial assistance to CSU students majoring in engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, and computer sciences. This scholarship supports students pursuing degrees in fields critical to scientific and technological advancement.

    Eligibility Requirements

    To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Good Academic Standing: Applicants must be in good academic standing.

    Full-time Enrollment:

    • Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time equivalent undergraduate or graduate student at a California State University (CSU) campus.

    Eligible Majors:

    • Applicants must be majoring in one of the following fields:
      • Engineering
      • Physics
      • Chemistry
      • Biology
      • Computer Sciences

    Full-time Enrollment Requirement:

    • Applicants must remain enrolled as a full-time equivalent student throughout the academic year in which the award is received.
    • Award Value

    Amount: 

    • One (1) $7,000 scholarship will be awarded for the academic year.

    Application Process

    Application Review by Financial Aid Office:

    • The Financial Aid Office at each CSU campus will review applications to ensure that applicants meet all eligibility requirements.

    Campus Nomination:

    • Each CSU campus may submit two (2) eligible applicants to the CSU Foundation for final selection.

    Required Documents: 

    The following documents must be submitted by the campus Financial Aid Office to the CSU Foundation:

    • Personal Statement (300-word count for each):What experience has impacted your personal growth?
    • Tell us about a time you failed. What did you learn from that experience?
    • Why are you pursuing your major? How does it relate to your career aspirations?
    • Provide an example of service beyond the classroom (e.g., family obligations, political action, volunteer work, internships, etc.). Why is this example significant to you?
