The Flywire Charitable Foundation offers a fantastic opportunity for undergraduate students through its scholarship program. The Foundation aims to improve equality, access, and affordability for underrepresented individuals and communities. For the 2024 academic year, sixteen scholarships of $5,000 USD each will be awarded across four key themes: Social Justice, Global Health, Global Citizenship, and Environmental Sustainability.

Application Process:

  • To apply for the Flywire Charitable Foundation Scholarship, eligible applicants must complete the application form in English, which includes written responses to three key questions:
  • Tell us about yourself: What are you studying, and at what school?
  • What hurdles have you had to overcome to pursue your studies?
  • What do you hope to achieve with your education, and how does it relate to the theme of the scholarship you have selected?

Eligibility:

  • The scholarship is open only to undergraduate students.
  • Applicants can hold citizenship from any country, but they must be attending an institution located in one of the countries listed on the FAQ page of the scholarship site.
  • Applicants must be enrolled for the 2024 Fall term, as the funds cannot be deferred.
  • The scholarship is open to students from all majors.
  • Each student can only apply for one of the four scholarship categories (Social justice, Global health, Global citizenship, Environmental sustainability).

Timeline:

  • Applications open: May 1, 2024, at 9:00 AM UTC.
  • Applications close: June 2, 2024, at 11:59 PM UTC.
  • Winners notified: By July 21, 2024.
  • Scholarship funds will be distributed directly to the institution shortly after winners are notified.

  • A committee composed of members from the Flywire Charitable Foundation and global Flywire employees will review each application.

  • Adherence to the Prompt: Applicants must clearly address the questions posed by Flywire and demonstrate how their studies relate to the selected scholarship theme.

  • Applicants should showcase their resilience and determination when overcoming obstacles.
  • Leadership: Applicants must describe their personal, academic, and career goals and how their education will help them achieve these goals.
