The Dorothy Sohn Endowed Scholarship was created by the Sohn/Pedroza family in memory of Dorothy Sohn, who pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse by starting college at age fifty and remained passionate about learning throughout her life.
Eligibility Criteria for the Dorothy Sohn Endowed Scholarship:
- Applicants can be of any nationality, with preference given to a non-traditional age female student.
- If no non-traditional female nursing student qualifies, the scholarship may be awarded to a student in the College of Science and Health, with preference for a non-traditional-age female.
- Applicants can be either full-time or part-time undergraduate students who are majoring in nursing.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need (not necessarily as defined by the federal government).
