CSC UTS PhD scholarship 2026

Overview:

UTS and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) offer joint scholarships for students from the People’s Republic of China to undertake PhD research at UTS, including dual doctoral degrees. UTS covers tuition fees and provides a top-up stipend that lifts the CSC allowance to the Australian Government Research Training Program rate.

Eligibility for CSC UTS PhD scholarship:

• Be Chinese citizens or permanent residents of China
• Meet all UTS admission and English language requirements, with an unconditional or conditional PhD offer
• Be nominated by their Faculty for an HDR tuition fee offset
• Be eligible for an Australian student visa
• Commit to returning to China after completing their studies
• Meet the China Scholarship Council’s selection criteria

Selection Process:

The final selection for the joint CSC-UTS Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Scholarship will be made by CSC on the basis of academic merit.

Application Process:

• FEIT applicants must submit an EOI before lodging their UTS PhD admission application.
• Applicants from other faculties must apply to the UTS Graduate Research School via the application portal by the CSC deadline once applications open.
• To be considered for other UTS scholarships, apply by the 2025 international scholarship deadlines and indicate CSC as your sponsor.

Value offered:

Covers a living allowance, visa fees, health insurance, and return airfare. Applicants should request 48 months of funding to cover their full UTS HDR scholarship.
