This bursary is for Home/UK undergraduates ordinarily resident in England who have experience of being in local authority care, are irreconcilably estranged from their family, or have unpaid young adult carer responsibilities.

Eligibility for the UniCares Bursary:

Applicants must:

Be Home/UK undergraduate students ordinarily resident in England
Fall into one of the following categories:
- Care leaver or care-experienced
- Irreconcilably estranged from parents
- Have unpaid young adult carer responsibilities
Have a residual household income of £25,000 or less per year (assessed by Student Finance England)
Be 25 years old or younger on 1 September in the first year of study

Value of UniCares Bursary:

£3,500 per academic year
Payable for a maximum of three years
