Description:
This Prize was established by subscriptions from past and present students and staff of the Geology Department at Auckland University, as well as from other professional colleagues, as a tribute to Professor A. R. Lillie upon the occasion of his retirement after holding the Chair in Geology at Auckland from 1951 to 1974.
Eligibility for the Arnold Lillie Prize in Geology:
- Students must demonstrate a high standard of fieldwork by students of Geology at the University of Auckland.
- Candidate must prepare the most meritorious report (including a thesis or course) on geological fieldwork written in the year preceding the award.
- The Prize will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council upon the recommendation of the Director of the School of Environment.

- Nomination is made to the Scholarships Office.
- The Prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Environment.
