Vice Chancellor's Future Leaders Award at the University of Surrey

The University of Surrey offers this prestigious award to outstanding students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, a commitment to social responsibility, and the potential to become future leaders. Selected recipients receive a GBP 7,500 fee waiver.

Eligibility Criteria of Vice Chancellor's Future Leaders Award:

1. Applicants must be overseas fee-paying students and hold an offer for a full-time bachelor’s (Level 4 entry) or full-time master’s degree at the University of Surrey. Eligible applicants must be domiciled in one of the following countries: Algeria, Brazil, Botswana, Bulgaria, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, or Zimbabwe. Undergraduate applicants must list Surrey as their firm choice on UCAS.
2. Applicants must be self-funded (not sponsored and not receiving other scholarships), apply before the CAS is issued, and note that the award cannot be deferred; those deferring must reapply, subject to availability.
3. The scholarship is only available to new applicants who meet all eligibility requirements and complete the application process before receiving their CAS.

Application Process:

1. Applicants must hold an offer from the University and provide a valid student ID for their scholarship application to be assessed.
2. Applicants must submit the scholarship application before their CAS is issued, as the award cannot be applied for after the CAS has been generated.

Award: GBP 7,500 as a tuition fee waiver.

Note: 

1. For both undergraduate and two-year postgraduate programmes, the scholarship is valid only for the first year of study, and recipients of the Future Leaders Scholarship cannot receive any other Surrey scholarship.
2. Applications close on 9 January 2026 for February 2026 postgraduate entry and on 31 July 2026 for September 2026 entry.
