Catherine and Peter Tay for Singapore Alumni Scholarship at The University of Newcastle 2026

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be past recipients of the Singapore Alumni Scholarship.
• Applicants must be enrolled in any year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Newcastle.
• Applicants must demonstrate the impact of educational disadvantages such as carer and sole parent responsibilities, financial hardship, long-term medical conditions, a disability, the ongoing effects of abuse, and regional/remote disadvantage.
• Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement by having a GPA of 5.0 or higher in their current program.
• Applicants must not be recipients of another University of Newcastle donor-funded or sponsored scholarship.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:

• A 1-page personal statement that highlights the academic success, career goals, and how this scholarship will help the candidate achieve them.
• The candidate might need to give documents to back up their claim of educational disadvantage. 

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful University of Newcastle Catherine and Peter Tay applicant for the Singapore Alumni Scholarship will receive AUD 5,000.
