Overview

The TaiwanICDF has long prioritized international education and training as a key aspect of its operations. Human resources development is crucial for sustainable development in partner countries, and education serves as a vital tool for workforce training. Through collaborations with esteemed partner universities in Taiwan, the TaiwanICDF offers scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs. The Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA), comprising 23 partner universities, serves as an operational platform to enhance and oversee the scholarship program. In 2025, there will be 29 programs available for TaiwanICDF Scholarship applications.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for TaiwanICDF Scholarship, and satisfy any specific criteria established by his or her country and/or government of citizenship.
  • Should neither be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student.
  • Candidate must satisfy the admission requirements of the partner university to which he or she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
  • Should be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior, of the ROC (Taiwan) government (this means that the TaiwanICDF has the right to revoke a scholarship offered if an applicant cannot satisfy the visa requirements).

Value of the Scholarship: 

  • The Value of the scholarship includes airfare + housing + tuition and credit fees + insurance + monthly allowance.
  • In Allowance, each master's student shall receive NT$18,000 per month and Ph.D. students receive NT$20,000 per month as an allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses.

Collateral includes either: Immovable property – a house or a flat or land (or) liquid security – an FD, or LIC or shares or bonds. Agricultural lands are not accepted by any bank for education loan.
