The Linehan Artist Scholars at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) 2026

Eligibility Criteria for The Linehan Artist Scholars:

Applicants must:

• Be first-year students (i.e. entering their first year of study).
• Intend to major in one of the following disciplines:
  • Music
  • Dance
  • Theatre
  • Visual Arts

Application Process:

• Applicants must apply by January 31 for the first-year priority deadline.
• It is recommended to submit applications by the Early Action or Priority deadline for UMBC admission.

Value/Benefit:

• The program offers four-year scholarship awards, providing $5,000 - $15,000 per year for in-state students and $10,000 - $22,000 per year for out-of-state students.
• The scholarship often covers a significant portion of the cost of attendance.
• Scholars also receive opportunities for summer research, mentorship by professional artists, and unique experiences such as attending performances and art museums in major cities.
