Residential College Scholarship at University of Southern Queensland
In 2026, UniSQ will offer Residential College Scholarships to support students residing at UniSQ Residential Colleges in Toowoomba, whether commencing or continuing their undergraduate studies. The scholarship does not cover study breaks or short-term accommodation. Applications will be open in Trimesters 1, 2, and 3 2026.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be a domestic student currently residing in Australia and be commencing or continuing their studies at UniSQ in an undergraduate program in the trimester of application (e.g., Trimester 1 2026), with continuing students holding a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.0.
- The applicant must be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in a minimum of 2 study units per trimester (extenuating circumstances may be considered for students studying only one unit).
- The applicant must be residing, or intending to reside, at one of the UniSQ Residential Colleges, Toowoomba campus, and must not be a resident of Steele Rudd College, Block A or B.
- The applicant must have their principal place of residence at least 50 kilometres from the UniSQ Toowoomba campus and have a low-to-middle annual household income.
Selection Criteria: The applicant must provide evidence of having to relocate from a permanent residential address at least 50 kilometres from the UniSQ Toowoomba campus and provide evidence of their current financial circumstances. If the permanent residence address is not at least 50 km away, the applicant may claim exceptional circumstances and provide supporting details and documentation.
Application Process: Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.
Award: The scholarship has a maximum value of AUD 2,300 per trimester across the 2026 academic year, with the total amount varying depending on the trimester in which it is awarded (e.g., Trimester 1, 2, or 3 2026).
Note:
- If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. Some scholarships cannot be held together.
- Extra consideration will be given to those students who need to relocate from more remote areas within Australia, according to the Modified Monash Model.
- There are some Centrelink payments (e.g., ABSTUDY Relocation Scholarship or ABSTUDY Residential Cost Option Scholarship) that cannot be held in the same period as the UniSQ Residential College Scholarship. We recommend you seek clarification from Centrelink before accepting a UniSQ Residential College Scholarship.
