Nora Bateson Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
The Nora Bateson Scholarship, established via a bequest from Mr Archie Dunningham, honours Nora Bateson, former Director of the New Zealand Library School (1948–1953). It supports beginning practitioners to gain overseas study or professional practice experience, rather than research degree work.
Eligibility Criteria of Nora Bateson Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington:
- Open to students enrolled in the Master of Information Studies (MIS), Postgraduate Certificate, or Postgraduate Diploma in Information Studies at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
- Supports a term of study or internship in Library and Information Studies at a New Zealand or overseas university/organization.
Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled in the MIS, PG Certificate, or PG Diploma in Information Studies at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and intend to undertake a term of study or internship in Library and Information Studies.
- Preference is given to those studying overseas or without prior GLAMR sector experience; if no suitable overseas applicants are available, New Zealand-based study/internships may be considered.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: NZD 10,000.
