KAS Media Africa Scholarship, 2017

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is providing scholarships to journalists of Sub-Saharan African countries who are under 30 to do Masters or honors at the University of Witwatersrand.

Eligibility

• The applicants for KAS Media Africa Scholarship, 2017 should be working as journalists in Sub-Saharan African countries.
• The candidates should be aged under 30 and should have English language fluency.
• The students applying for Honours should have minimum 3 years of experience or an undergraduate degree or should pass an entrance test.
• The applicants for Masters should BA honors in journalism or an equivalent degree or three years of experience.
• The candidates are expected to work KAS Media Africa and write a bi-monthly report on their study progress.

Documents required

• The KAS Media Africa Scholarship, 2017 applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation.
• The candidates should also submit tow nomination or reference letters and by a publisher or a senior journalist and writing samples.
• The applicants should submit their applications before the deadline and should attend an interview by skype or telephone and should sit for an exam.

Value of the scholarship
The recipients of KAS Media Africa Scholarship, 2017 get a stipend of 5 000 ZAR, fees, return flight to Johannesburg, accommodation fees and 2 500 ZAR for study material.
