The Jack and Mary Wiggin Aboriginal Health Award at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) supports Indigenous students pursuing health-related studies, particularly those interested in serving rural and remote Indigenous communities.

Eligibility Criteria for the Jack and Mary Wiggin Aboriginal Health Award at the University of Northern British Columbia 2026:

• Applicants must be full-time Indigenous undergraduate or graduate students.
• Applicants must be studying in a health-related field.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
• Applicants must demonstrate academic proficiency.
• First preference is given to students intending to build a career serving rural and/or remote Indigenous communities.

Application Process for the Jack and Mary Wiggin Aboriginal Health Award at the University of Northern British Columbia 2026:

• Complete the online Awards Application.
• Submit a 1–2 page submission on your motivation for health studies and key health challenges in your community.
• The submission may be an essay, poem, or artwork.
• A reference letter may also be submitted by a referee.
• Send additional documents to awards@unbc.ca
