Carl P. Koerner Jr. Scholarship at Eastern Illinois University 2024

The Carl Koerner Memorial Scholarship is established by Jack and Bethina Schultz in memory of Carl P. Koerner Jr., who served as a member of the EIU Board of Trustees, the Koerner Scholarship advances the University’s mission of global citizenship. The award is presented annually to an academically talented international student in a degree program at Eastern Illinois University.

Eligibility criteria for the EIU Carl Koerner Memorial Scholarship:

• Open to all international students.
• Applicants must demonstrate academic merit.
• Applicants must be enrolled in an eligible academic program at the university.

Application Process:

• All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.
• The candidates must submit an essay outlining the  personal experience that highlights the importance of international education at Eastern Illinois University (400-500 words). 

Value of EIU Carl Koerner Memorial Scholarship:

Successful applicants of the EIU Carl Koerner Memorial Scholarship will receive an amount that is disclosed at the discretion of the university.
