Destination Australia Scholarship at University of Southern Queensland
The Destination Australia Scholarship (Domestic), funded by the Australian Government Department of Education to support study in regional Australia, will support one domestic student commencing full-time on-campus studies in an eligible program at UniSQ Toowoomba in Trimester 1 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant should be a domestic student currently residing in Australia, and should reside or intend to reside in Toowoomba or surrounding regional areas (classified as 'regional' under the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard Remoteness Areas (2016) – Health Workforce Locator map).
- The applicant should commence an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UniSQ in Trimester 1 2025, either as a new student or as a UniSQ graduate commencing a higher-level program.
- The applicant should intend to enrol full-time, on-campus at UniSQ Toowoomba.
Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must address each personal statement question below (maximum 200 words per question): What influenced and motivated you to choose your study program at UniSQ, How you see yourself as a future professional within your field, Why you are interested in studying in a regional area in Australia.
- Applicants must provide supporting documentation as directed in the application process, including evidence of past academic achievement and proof of residence.
- Priority will be given to applicants from underrepresented groups in tertiary education, including those who are first in family to attend university, First Nations people, living with a disability, from a low-socioeconomic background (low-SES), or from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
Application Process: Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.
Award: A maximum value of AUD 7,500 to be paid in one instalment.
Deadline: Monday 20 January 2025 at 11:59pm (AEST).
Note:
- Eligible programs are those offered at the UniSQ Toowoomba campus and align with the Australian Government's Occupation Shortage List. (Check it in the University's website).
- If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
