CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement

The CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement recognizes students who have overcome adversity, demonstrated financial need, and achieved academic excellence while contributing significantly to their communities.

Eligibility criteria for the CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement:

• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be in good academic standing.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the campus Financial Aid Office.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time equivalent undergraduate or graduate student in any major at a CSU campus.
• Applicants must remain full-time equivalent CSU students throughout the academic year.
• Selection considers superior academic performance, significant personal achievements, exemplary community service, and overcoming adversity.

Application Process for the CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement:

• Applicants must contact the Financial Aid Office at the applicant's CSU campus.
• Final nominees must provide personal statements of 300 words each addressing an experience that impacted their personal growth, a time they failed and what they learned from it, why they are pursuing their major and how it relates to their career aspirations, and an example of service beyond the classroom and why it is significant.
• Final nominees may be interviewed for the top scholarship awards.
• The campus submits a nomination cover letter from the President along with the required application materials to the CSU Foundation.
• The recipient who receives the highest score by the CSU Foundation scholarship selection committee is designated the Trustee Emeritus Ali C. Razi Scholar and will receive a USD 20,000 scholarship
