This award, conferred on an occasional basis, honors WGSS students’ extraordinary community service engagement, especially through dedicated service in an internship with WSU credit taken for the women’s, gender, and sexuality studies major or minor or queer studies minor.
Eligibility Criteria for the Internship & Community Service Award in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies:
The applicants must:
- Be of any nationality.
- Be a women’s, gender, and sexuality studies major or minor or queer studies minor on the Pullman campus.
- Be pursuing internship with the WSU.
Selection Criteria:
- Any internship completed by women’s, gender, and sexuality studies majors or minors and queer studies minors between April 10, 2024 and April 10, 2025 is eligible for consideration.
- Self-nominations by WGSS majors and minors are appropriate and encouraged. WGSS faculty may also make nominations.
Application Process:
- The applications should include the following documents in the nomination form:
- An essay of approximately two pages (500 words) describing internship or community service experience and how it connects to WGSS courses.
- A current CV or resume.
Value of the Scholarship:
The successful candidates are awarded with an award amount of up to $500.
