Eligibility Criteria for Brent Cooper Memorial Scholarship at Northern Arizona University 2025:

Applicants Must:

• Be pursuing a major in Criminology and Criminal Justice or a related field at Northern Arizona University (NAU).
• Sign a pledge to remain drug-free throughout their academic career.
• Complete an essay on the importance of community involvement in policing efforts and/or the most current innovative and humane methods of promoting safe and vital communities.
• Preference will be given to students:
  • Who attended high school in Flagstaff.
  • Particularly those from neighborhoods where Chief Cooper focused his community policing efforts (Sunnyside, La Plaza Vieja, and Southside).
  • Or students who are currently working in law enforcement.

Value of the Brent Cooper Memorial Scholarship at Northern Arizona University 2025:

• The scholarship amount is $1,300.
• The award is dispersed in two payments: one-half for the fall semester and one-half for the spring semester.
