University of Strathclyde Discretionary Fund 2023/24

Summary:

The grants from the Discretionary Fund are non-repayable supplements to your regular student aid, like student loans. You may qualify for funding from the fund whether you are a home student or if you are from elsewhere in the United Kingdom.

Eligibility:

• The candidate must be enrolled at the University of Strathclyde as a full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate student.
• The candidate ought to be enrolled in a course that has a typical academic load of at least thirty credits.
• All statutory assistance, including maintenance loans, to which the student is eligible (usually SAAS support, the equivalent support from other funding agencies in the rest of the UK) should have been sought for and evaluated by the student.
• The candidate must be a resident of the United Kingdom and either fulfill the residence requirements outlined in the Education (Access Funds) (Scotland) Determination 2013 or be qualified to receive maintenance support under laws that apply in other regions of the United Kingdom.

Application Process:

• If you would like to apply for financial help, fill out the Application for Financial Help form. Our assessing team will evaluate your circumstances and eligibility for all of the funds we administer (Housing Support Fund, Mature Students Hardship Fund, The Lady Eileen McDonald EU & International Student Fund, and Discretionary Fund) with just one application and one set of supporting documents. 
• Please fill out the application, making sure to include all sources of income and expenses.  An incomplete application cannot be evaluated.  Your application will be delayed if you do not submit all required papers.  Kindly supply photocopies; original materials will not be reimbursed.
