2025/26 UG Sanctuary Scholarships
 
Northumbria University would like to announce the Sanctuary Scholarship for those seeking asylum in the UK.

Eligibility criteria -

• You must be currently seeking asylum in the UK, or you must be a dependant, spouse, or civil partner* of someone currently seeking asylum in the UK, and be able to provide evidence of your current immigration status
• Have received a conditional or unconditional offer on a Full-Time Undergraduate course at Northumbria University, starting in September 2025
• Starting at level four (i.e., the first year of a Full-Time Undergraduate degree)
• Meet all the conditions of your course, including English Language competency requirements
• Be living in the North East of England (Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Northumberland, Cleveland, and North Cumbria) at the time of application
• Be unable to access UK student finance (tuition fee loans and/or maintenance loans) under your immigration status

Application process -

• The applicant must surpass all the additional requirements the University sets for admission.

Award - 100% tuition fee waiver and a cash sum of £3,000
