Introduction:
The John B. O Brien Annual Prize in History is established in the memory of the late John B. O'Brien, who was a statutory lecturer in economic history from 1970 to 1999.
Eligibility criteria for the John B. O'Brien Annual Prize in History at University College Cork:
- The applicants must be a current University College Cork (UCC) student.
- The applicants must be studying history at UCC.
- The prize is awarded for the best examination paper or equivalent assessment in Australian history, achieving at least a 2H1 standard.
- If no candidates meets the requirements in Australian History, consideration moves to the economic history. The applicants must be a current University College Cork student.
- If no candidates meet the requirements in economic history, consideration moves to Irish local history.
