Overview:
The Scholarship aims to support a thriving Indigenous contribution to architectural culture and production, representing approaches to issues of design, construction, sustainability, and landscape.
Eligibility for The Droga Indigenous Architecture Scholarship Program UTS:
- Identity: Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, with either:
- Confirmation of Aboriginality, or
- UTS Statutory Declaration + two community references (non–immediate family).
- Undergraduate applicants:
- Continuing in Bachelor of Design in Architecture with ≤48 credit points completed, or
- Commencing full-time in the Bachelor of Design in Architecture (single/combined) with a high school report (and school reference if available).
- Under 25 years old at the start of the relevant year.
- Masters applicants:
- Commencing Master of Architecture with a GPA ≥ 4.25, or
- Continuing in the Master of Architecture with:
- ≤36 credit points completed, and
- WAM ≥ 50 in completed subjects.
- Must provide an academic reference.
- Applicants must be available to attend an interview in person, if required.

- Passion and talent for architecture; and
- Motivation and interest in pursuing a career in architecture using innovative thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills; and
- Initiative to seek opportunities to continually advance their professional and personal lives; and
- Circumstances impacting the applicant’s ability to support themselves and how receipt of the scholarship will assist their academic success; and
- Commitment to benefiting the Indigenous community through architectural culture and production in line with the purpose of the scholarship may also be taken into account.
