    Overview:

    The Scholarship aims to support a thriving Indigenous contribution to architectural culture and production, representing approaches to issues of design, construction, sustainability, and landscape.

    Eligibility for The Droga Indigenous Architecture Scholarship Program UTS:

    • Identity: Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, with either:
      • Confirmation of Aboriginality, or
      • UTS Statutory Declaration + two community references (non–immediate family).
    • Undergraduate applicants:
      • Continuing in Bachelor of Design in Architecture with ≤48 credit points completed, or
      • Commencing full-time in the Bachelor of Design in Architecture (single/combined) with a high school report (and school reference if available).
      • Under 25 years old at the start of the relevant year.
    • Masters applicants:
      • Commencing Master of Architecture with a GPA ≥ 4.25, or
      • Continuing in the Master of Architecture with:
        • ≤36 credit points completed, and
        • WAM ≥ 50 in completed subjects.
    • Must provide an academic reference.
    • Applicants must be available to attend an interview in person, if required.

    Selection process:

    • Passion and talent for architecture; and
    • Motivation and interest in pursuing a career in architecture using innovative thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills; and
    • Initiative to seek opportunities to continually advance their professional and personal lives; and
    • Circumstances impacting the applicant’s ability to support themselves and how receipt of the scholarship will assist their academic success; and
    • Commitment to benefiting the Indigenous community through architectural culture and production in line with the purpose of the scholarship may also be taken into account.
