The SCWIST – Michael Smith Scholarship at the University of Northern British Columbia was established by the Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) in recognition of Dr. Michael Smith, the 1993 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry. The scholarship supports and encourages women pursuing undergraduate education in science and related fields.
Eligibility Criteria for the SCWIST - Michael Smith Scholarship at the University of Northern British Columbia 2026:
- Applicants must be female students.
- Applicants must have completed at least 60 credit hours toward a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence.
- Applicants must demonstrate career aspirations and community service, with consideration also given to personal challenges.
- Applicants must be enrolled in one of the eligible Bachelor of Science programs.
