Introduction:
The Samit & Reshma Sharma Excellence Award in Health Studies recognizes outstanding students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement during their first year of study in Health Studies programs. This award highlights individuals who show a strong balance of academic excellence, leadership, and personal and professional growth.
Eligibility requirement for Samit & Reshma Sharma Excellence Award in Health Studies at Holland College :
- Must be entering second year in one of the eligible Health Studies programs: Medical Support Services, Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Primary Care Paramedicine.
- Must be nominated by staff or faculty members of the Health Studies department (self-nominations are not accepted).
- Must demonstrate a combination of academic leadership, financial need, volunteerism, peer collaboration, and personal growth during first year of study.
- Must show evidence of exceptional overall achievement in the first year of the program.
Value of the scholarship:
CAD 2,400 award is available to support a full-time student
Application Process:
- Nominations must be submitted by faculty or staff members of the Health Studies department; students cannot apply directly.
- Nominators must provide a detailed submission outlining the candidate’s academic leadership, financial need, volunteerism, peer collaboration, and personal growth during first year.
- Eligible nominees must be entering second year in one of the approved Health Studies programs and will be assessed based on overall first-year achievement.
