Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students at Portland State University.
Applicants must be enrolled in Arabic, Turkish, or Persian language class at PSU during the year for which the scholarship is granted.
Applicants must have an overall grade point average of 3.25.
Applicants must be U.S. citizen.
Applicants must demonstrate interest in the Middle East through coursework related to the region, although enrollment in a Middle East Studies degree program is not required.

Value of Patricia and Gary Leiser Middle East Scholarship :

All successful applicants will receive up to $2,000 as an award from Portland State University.
