The Michael & Greta McKinney Physics & Astronomy Scholarship supports undergraduate students in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at San Francisco State University.

Eligibility criteria for the Michael & Greta McKinney Physics & Astronomy Scholarship:

• Applicants must be undergraduate students in the Department of Physics & Astronomy.
• Applicants must be continuing or entering students.
• Applicants must major in or have a concentration in Physics or Astronomy.
• Applicants must be Sophomore, Junior, or Senior students.
• Applicants must be enrolled in at least 7 units.
• Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
• Applicants must demonstrate academic merit, which includes grades, research, extracurricular activities, service, leadership, and challenges overcome.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Application process for the Michael & Greta McKinney Physics & Astronomy Scholarship:

• Applicants must submit a 300–600 word essay addressing their career goals, financial need, research or extracurricular involvement, leadership/service, and challenges overcome.
• Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation.
• Applicants must submit all college transcripts; unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
