This award supports aspiring Pasifika students pursuing studies in a Business discipline at the Wellington School of Business and Government, Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. It provides financial assistance to help Pasifika students advance their careers and increase representation in New Zealand’s business sector.
Eligibility Criteria of Luamanuvao Dame Winnie Laban Pasifika Business Postgraduate Degree Scholarship:
- Open to Pasifika students enrolled or intending to enrol in Honours, Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma, or Master’s degrees in Commerce, Professional Business Analysis, Professional Accounting, Global Business, Actuarial Science, or Executive MBA; both full-time and part-time students are eligible.
- Applicants must meet the admissions requirements for their chosen qualification.
Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must be of Pasifika descent and will be assessed on academic merit, with preference given to those experiencing financial hardship.
- The scholarship is not available for postgraduate programmes in government, such as public policy, public administration, e-government, restorative justice, or social policy.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: Approximately NZD 5,000.
Note:
- Recipients must write a thank-you letter to the scholarship donors within one month of receiving the award.
- If part-time study is approved, the scholarship may be pro-rated at the discretion of the decision-making panel.
- To maintain the scholarship for its full tenure, recipients must remain enrolled and demonstrate satisfactory academic progress.
